Coming together with Haven for Hope to create an inspiring and supportive San Antonio community.
Every year during the months of June to September, CPS Energy incentivizes businesses to briefly reduce energy usage during peak times in order for the grid to maintain enough energy to meet the demand.
As a way to strengthen our community with these demand response incentives, BLCCS is hosting a demand response KW Drive with proceeds of the drive being donated to Haven For Hope.
Haven for Hope provides a one stop comprehensive campus for those experiencing homelessness. More than 1400 people live on Haven’s campus including almost 200 children. Haven works to address the root causes of homelessness so that once individuals leave our campus they don’t have the need to return.
By coming together to donate the money you receive from participating in demand response, we can give a hand up to those experiencing homelessness in our community..
What is haven for hope?
In order to really make this drive successful, BLCCS will donate up to $10,000 to ensure your company maximizes participation and sets your business up for demand response success. That means we are donating time, energy, and labor to your building so that it's saving energy year round and optimized for this kW drive!

How Does the kW Drive Work?
- Let us know you are interested in participating by filling out the below form or contacting us directly. We will help you, if needed, sign up with CPS Energy. Application available on request.
- Must have at least 25kW to reduce. Minimum 100kW billed during the months of June-September
- CPS Energy will pay you for your averaged results over the events. Checks are usually mailed in October-November.
- Your business will then present donations at our presentation ceremony in November
